URA's MasterPlan08 iPhone App!

The mobile apps related to OneMap seem to be increasing steadily! In this post, TeamOneMap is gonna introduce another one - this time from Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA): The MasterPlan08 iPhone app!

The master plan map is one of the most significant maps in Singapore as it serves as a guideline on how Singapore should be developed for the different phases in the future. Don't think that this app only shows you the master plan, there are a lot more maps to offer! Let's take a look at what is in store for our iPhone users. :)

Ok, obviously, besides the master plan map, which will be the default map when you turn this app on, there are other functions you can explore. Zoom in and out of the maps by pinching, dragging and panning, just like how you explored the OneMap app. There is also a search function that allows users to search for places either by typing the name or the postal code.

What to know more about what those colours mean? Just touch on the legend button at the bottom right to get it. You can also locate your current location with the GPS button that is next to it.

As mentioned, you can view a few other maps other than the master plan. Touch the bottom tab that says 'Maps' and you can find a few of them, such as the Building Height Plan, Parks & Waterbodies Plan and of course, the OneMap StreetMap. :)

What's more, you can also view the satellite imagery of Singapore, captured by Bing Maps.

This has got to be one of the most informative map applications in Singapore! Great to learn about the different plans drawn out for places by referring to this app!
