OneMap Challenge 2012 Feature App: imHungry@SG

Posted by OneMap | Sunday, July 1, 2012 | Category: , , |

This weekend's feature app is from the mobile category of OneMap Challenge 2012: imHungry@SG. This mobile app is available on both iPhone (http://itunes.apple.com/sg/app/imhungry-sg/id370531172?mt=8) and Android (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nyp.android&hl=en) platforms. As the app name suggests, just tap on this app when you are hungry! (Make sure you are in Singapore though cos' it is "@SG" lol...)

The interface of the app is pretty slick and clean, just 3 tabs at the bottom and all the options on the main screen are displayed nicely and orderly. :)

The Home page allows users to easily call any of the 8 fast food and restaurant outlets. Just tap on the food outlet you wish to call to get your food delivered to your doorstep!

Under the Information page, users can find out the delivery hours of the fast food outlets (do note that the times shown are the delivery hours and not the opening hours). You can also tap on the outlets to find their locations. For example, I wish to know where is the nearest Pastamania outlet from my location. I can simply tap on the Pastamania option, followed by "Locate Me" to get my current location, then click on the "Find Nearby" icon to display the nearest Pastamania restaurant.

To display the address of the outlet, tap on the outlet icon. You can see the address and the distance you are away from it.

Want to get directions to go to the restaurant? No problem! Tap on the right arrow button from the call-out and the app would prompt you whether you wish to go to that outlet. Select "Go" and the routing direction will be computed and displayed on the screen.

What's more, you can view the detailed routing directions by tapping the red arrows on the top right corner to guide you there!

The map will zoom into each of the steps to get you there.

Finally, if you just want to know more on the food items you can order for delivery, tap on the red icon on the right of each of the food outlets in the Information page and you will be directed to your phone internet browser to view the outlet's website. :)

That's it for this week's feature app post! Hmm... we are getting hungry from talking about this app too! Gonna check it out! Bye!
