Singapore is gonna get greener even within our concrete jungles with the BCA green building masterplan set to make over 80% of our buildings environmentally friendly by 2030.
The plan is so well conceived and received, the efforts and achievements have gained the international recognition, winning the Regional Leadership Award given by the World Green Building Council! OneMap is certainly proud to have the Green Mark Building theme parked under the Environment category! To find out exactly how many buildings in Singapore are certified green, go to OneMap.sg, navigate to Themes icon > Environment > Green Mark Buildings.
Don't start to zoom the map yet. From the themes widget box, you can see that there are a total of 392 buildings certified with the green mark in Singapore. Currently, OneMap would only display 200 icons of each theme layer. To find out whether the building you are currently in is certified green, simply type in your building name/postal code and hit the go button. The theme layer will remain as it is and you can view if your building is a green mark one!
For example, we key in City Square Mall (This mall is kinda famous for its eco-friendly design) and the map will zoom to the building and the theme layer will still be there. This building is award "Platinum". To find out what are the different certifications, simply click the 'more info' hyperlink in the pop up box and it will direct you the the relevant website maintained by BCA. :)
Congratulations to BCA once again and who knows by 2030, this will be the most populous theme in OneMap!
