Sharing OneMap with your friends and liking us have never been easier than this! It is impossible not to notice by now that we have tweaked the OneMap portal a tiny bit and included 2 very small but very prominent icons!
The Facebook SHARE and LIKE buttons! Woohoo!
Ok, for those who are not OneMap's Facebook fan yet or are not sure how these 2 buttons work, let TeamOneMap explain how you can share and like us easier. :)
The Share button:
The Share button basically allows you to share via a post in your Facebook account with friends about OneMap. Once you have shared it, your friends can see the OneMap map portal link on their news feeds (or you can just post on their walls) and click to enjoy exploring the various themes and services we have.
Here is how it works:
Click on the Share icon on OneMap map portal and if you are already logged in on Facebook, you will be directed to Facebook and a link post would automatically be generated for you. All you have to do is to type in a comment, say "I love to use OneMap!" and click the "Share Link" button at the bottom right corner of the page.
Go back to your wall page and refresh the page... You would see that you have posted a OneMap map portal link!
The Like button:
Fan pages are the 'IN' thing nowadays! You can like a Facebook fan page and know more about the products/services that you liked. Right now, if you are already a OneMap fan, you would be receiving news on the themes, services and tips of using OneMap! So please like us! :)
Here is how it works:
Just simply click the Like button in OneMap portal... When you have done so, the button changes to grey and you cannot click on it anymore (it means you are already a fan!). This will happen if you are already logged in on Facebook.
Go to your Facebook wall and you would notice that one of your recent activities was liking OneMap. Click on that link and you will be directed to the fan page...simple as that!
We have made it easy for you to share and like us, so do share OneMap with your Facebook friends and like us even more! :)
I hate these buttons
I can't really believe how bad this is - the buttons are ugly and really annoying. On firefox, when I click on the Map menu, I can't see the contents because it is covered by an fat facebook button - "Like" - no, I don't like.
I don't want to use facebook! I want to use a map. And even if I did, this is just crap. So I wonder - who come up with this so called 'feature' - get rid of it!!!
