The talk of the town for the past few days must have been the only Formula 1 night race in the world - the Singapore Grand Prix.
For 3 days straight, there were crowds, concerts, races, super loud racing cars and a hell lot of fun and excitement!
After 3 practice sessions and a qualifying round, the real race began this evening and the results are just in! Sebastian Vettel from Red Bull-Renault has stormed into pole position last night and continued his fine form to win the Singapore Grand Prix today!
One thing that was of much talking point was the circuit as well. After feedback from drivers for the past 2 years, the organisers have tweaked the race course slightly to have more turns for drivers to perform some high adrenaline overtaking maneuvers! And speaking of which, TeamOneMap attempts to follow the new race circuit and draw the route on OneMap!
Hmm.... not a bad way to introduce our users to the draw function if you have not used it yet. The draw function is parked under Tools icon. Once you click on the Draw option, you can see several options that allows you to input features on the map. To draw a map like this one, we will be using the draw line option.
Click on the line option, select the size and colour of your line. In this example, we selected 10 and the colour red.
With reference to the official circuit map from the F1 website, we began to draw the route (although we gotta admit the routes around pit stop building is kinda confusing as they are not your conventional roads).
Each time you want the line to change its directions, just click on the mouse once and the next segment you draw will not follow the direction of the previous one. And when you are done, simply double click your mouse and you have got yourself a nice F1 circuit map!
