Do you remember the post where TeamOneMap taught users how to do cool embedding of mini maps on your website?
If you don't, you can refer to this post: http://onemapsg.blogspot.com/2010/12/tip-embed-onemap-on-your-website.html
However, don't follow the steps anymore! Not that the function is no longer available but we have upgraded the mini map!
Now, let's go through the new way of adding more stuff to the mini map. :)
Go to the API help documentation page again, click on the Mini Map tab on the left. Scroll down all the way and click on 'View Live Example'.
Once you are inside, you will see some changes done to the page. More instructions but still as simple to follow. :)
As with the previous post on mini map,
1.Select map size (we will keep as default here)
2. Enter the address (we will keep as default too)
3. Select zoom level (we put it as 7)
Now, here is the part where the enhancements are, we have included the callout function so that users are able to type in more information about the location they are displaying.
4. Type your callout title
5. You can enter the callout size but we shall not enter any value and let the system decide the size
6. Type in whatever you want to say about the location. In addition, you can also change the look of the text, add in pictures from URL and also to include your own hyperlinks! Since it is the time of the period to do tax filing, we typed in the text to remind people to file their taxes. Do take not that some special characters are not allowed in the text box.
Once you are done, click on the preview map button and the mini map will be generated on the right of the page!
If you are satisfied with your work and want to embed the map, simply click on the embed map button to generate the codes.
We have copied the code and pasted it here:
Simple isn't it?
Go on and experiment with the new enhanced mini map by OneMap! :)
